Suusamyr

The plains of Suusamyr lie at an average height of 2,000 m. In winter, Suusamyr is white of snow, full of blossoms in spring, a place for uncounted herds of horses in summer and a windy place in autumn.

Issyk Kol

A blue sapphire framed by silver mountains -- These words I had chosen to describe Ысык көл (pron.: Issyk Kol), the famous mountainous lake located in the Ala Too Mountains; only to find that they already had been coined by the Russian scientist and traveler Piotr Semyonov-Tienshansky more than a century ago.

Issyk Kol is also a province in the north-east of Kyrgyzstan.
